About the Game

Hunt Little Yaoguai. Come Home and Brew Elixirs.

You are a little yellow weasel running an elixir shop on Spirit Mountain.

Your days are simple: catch little yaoguai, find recipes, brew elixirs, carry them to the shelves, sell them, and visit the little shrine.

Your ultimate goal: brew the Elixir of Ascension and become an immortal!

Your Magic Treasures Fight on Their Own. They’re Better at It Than You.

Your magic treasures find targets automatically. All you need to do is weave through the yaoguai.

Inside the Landscape Scroll, taking a hit won’t kill you. It only makes the scroll’s incense burn faster.

When the incense burns out, the scroll spits you back onto Spirit Mountain.

The yaoguai can’t send you home empty-handed. They can only cut your haul short.

Genuine Elixirs. No Explanations After Consumption.

Bring the yaoguai home, feed them into the furnace, and brew elixirs one by one from your recipes.

Now and then, an elixir emerges with a precious glow. Suddenly, its price seems perfectly reasonable.

Carry the elixirs to the shelves yourself, or get a few helpers to do the hauling.

Customers aren’t picky. Whatever you put on the shelves, they’ll buy.

As for whether something might sprout from their heads after they take one…?

The effects are real. So are the side effects.

Invest what you earn from shopkeeping and adventuring in the little shrine, and your future immortal self will lend your present self some power.

Your magic treasures grow fiercer, the scroll lasts longer, the furnace burns hotter, and running the shop gets easier.

First make offerings to your future self. Then let your future self bless your present self.

Can’t Beat Them? Go Home and Brew a Few Batches.

This is an incremental loop where adventuring and shopkeeping fuel each other:

• Catch little yaoguai and bring them home

• Brew them into elixirs, stock the shelves, and sell them

• Invest your elixir sales in getting stronger

• Take fiercer magic treasures deeper into the scroll

You don’t have to clear every challenge in one run.

If you can’t reach somewhere this time, sell a few more batches and try again on your next trip.

Others cultivate in seclusion. You open for business.

Others contemplate the Dao. You work out how to make the furnace run a little faster.

All you wanted was to save your little shop after it ran out of stock.

As for why you eventually started thinking about ascension…

Once business takes off, even a little yellow weasel is bound to have a few wildly unrealistic ambitions.
