About the Game

Ever wanted a Fantasy Survival Horror? Inspired by Resident Evil and Classic Dungeons and Dragons, Within The Box let's you play as one of two respected mages tracking down a rogue wizard only to get stuck in his pocket dimension. Solve puzzles, sling magic, and uncover the truth to find a way out.

In Within The Box you'll find a first person, tense exploration, and puzzle solving gameplay that may be more akin to your Saturday Night Dungeons & Dragons game than an old playthrough of Resident Evil. You have a choice between the eccentric and studious Astair Volken or the wise-cracking and shoot first, ask questions later Zenner Jackson, who are tasked with tracking down a powerful rogue wizard named Raven and the important documents he stole from a local Magical Institution known as the Cypher. Only to find the tower he was hiding out in abandoned, after triggering a trap within the tower, both were teleported into a pocket dimension designed by Raven, and need to find a way out.

• A unique survival horror dungeon crawler experience - Navigate dark and mysterious levels with hidden secrets, locked doors that require a keen mind to open, and areas crawling with twisted creatures that will test your resolve.

• Inventory management - Limited inventory space for both characters will ensure that each item pickup makes for interesting choices and proper planning to be successful. 

• Two unique campaigns – Uncover the story of both Astair and Zenner as they navigate through the box with two completely unique storylines and playstyles that weave together seamlessly.

• Two unique playstyles - Both Astair and Zenner play wildly differently. Will you enjoy the slow and tense survival horror action of Astair and his wand based attacks, Or the the faster-paced and heart pumping action of Zenner with his twin enchanted pistols.

• Navigate the twisted horrors – A wide variety of twisted creatures stalk the rooms and pathways of the box. From twisted monstrosities, spiders, awakened gargoyles, and who knows what else has been let loose.

• Speedruns and Replayability – Playthroughs are timed and scored at the end of each campaign, encouraging replayability and speedrunning built-in. 

• New Game Plus - Enjoy new runs with fully unlocked weapons and upgrades for both characters to push new playthroughs to the next level.
