About the Game
You're Kazio, an ex-coal miner, husband, father, and the newest cashier at Żopka, Poland's landmark convenience store chain. Your job is simple: serve customers, follow the rules, don't get fired. Your real job is harder: keep your family from falling apart on a cashier's wage.
WORK THE REGISTER.
Scan items from a catalogue of 100+ products, check IDs, grill hot dogs, count change. Easy enough until corporate starts piling on new regulations. Suddenly you're verifying foreign documents, enforcing energy drink age limits, validating promo coupons, checking loyalty cards, charging for bags, and catching expired student IDs, all while the queue grows longer and the timer ticks faster.
And the customers don't make it easier. A rotating cast of 50 special characters, from haggling businessmen and black market dealers offering bribes, to impatient Karens, tracksuit philosophers who pay in loose change, shoplifters, truck drivers, a mohair-bereted grandma, and a suspiciously large proboscis monkey, each one to test your patience further.
WORK THE SYSTEM.
Your mother needs surgery, your son needs a school trip, winter is coming and the heating bill doubles. After each shift, take home whatever you earned and split it five ways: rent, food, medicine, school, heating.
...Or invest profits into the store. Start in a crumbling post-Soviet kiosk with flickering lights and wire shelving, unlock 22 upgrades across floors, walls, counters, shelves, lighting, security, and premium product lines, and watch it transform all the way up to a gleaming, neon-lit Cyber-Żopka that would make the franchise proud.
AND MAKE IT WORK WELL.
Accept a bribe or report it. Join the union or stay loyal. Save for your mother's surgery or upgrade the store. Over 30 days, your decisions accumulate into one of 9 distinct endings, some hopeful, some devastating, and one that makes you the true Żopka emperor. Then do it all over again in New Game Plus with per-ending bonuses.
