About the Game

WE’RE STILL HERE is a survival game set in a Ukrainian city during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

You are not a soldier or a hero. You are an ordinary person trying to survive after weeks of siege. Electricity and running water are gone, pharmacies and stores are empty, communication is unreliable, and much of the city has already been destroyed.

Search abandoned buildings for food and medicine. Collect water. Keep warm. Cross dangerous streets during shelling. Help others — or make choices you may have to live with.

But survival is only part of the story.

THE CITY REMEMBERS

The game begins weeks after the siege started, when much of the destruction has already happened. The streets, abandoned apartments, improvised graves and ruined buildings tell only part of what took place here.

The rest survives through memory.

At night, your character writes in a notebook, trying to remember the people, places and events that existed before everything became ruins.

BASED ON DOCUMENTED EXPERIENCES

WE’RE STILL HERE connects the game with events and experiences documented during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The protagonist and the city are fictional. The documentary material behind many of their experiences is not.

In the Memory Archive, players can explore the real-world context behind individual diary entries: documented eyewitness accounts, locations, dates, investigations and published sources that inspired them.

The game clearly separates fictional reconstruction from documented information.

Where a story is connected to a real event or testimony, players can examine the sources behind it.

MEMORY ARCHIVE

The Memory Archive exists to preserve and share documented accounts of what civilians experienced during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

It provides additional context for events represented in the game and allows players who want to learn more to continue beyond the fictional story and access the underlying sources.

If you look deeper, you may discover that some of the most disturbing things you encounter in this fictional city already happened to real people.

SURVIVE THE SIEGE

Search for food, medicine, fuel and tools.

Find and collect water when the taps stop working.

Explore apartments, shelters and destroyed parts of the city.

Survive artillery attacks and the dangers of moving through exposed areas.

Make difficult decisions when there are not enough resources to help everyone.

Play alone or survive together in co-op.

Your objective is simple:

make it through another day.

WE’RE STILL HERE is not a story about superheroes. It is about civilians trying to remain human while their normal world disappears around them.

Our goal is not to turn war into spectacle, but to use the language of a survival game to preserve memory, provide historical and documentary context, and help people who have never experienced a siege understand what survival can actually mean.

The city is fictional.

The invasion is not.

The sources are not.
