About the Game

FIND YOURSELF ON BOTH SIDES OF THE HOOK

In WATERS, you can become a fish, a predator, or a fisherman.

Swim with friends, grow your fish during each match, and try to reach the open sea—or join as a fisherman and see whether you can catch the other players.

Your friend might be the very fish swimming toward the bait.

The question is: who wins when they end up on the hook?

GROW, SURVIVE, AND FIND A WAY FORWARD

Every match is a new fight for survival.

Search for food, grow throughout the match, and avoid the dangers lurking in the fishing ground. The bigger your fish becomes, the closer you are to reaching the next area of the map.

Every fishing ground can bring different challenges: predators, hooks, obstacles, and other players.

Survive long enough to find a way forward and ultimately escape into the open sea.

HUNT LIKE A PREDATOR

Not every fish has to run.

Choose a predator and become a threat to the other inhabitants of the fishing ground.

Watch for prey, use sprinting and momentum, and try to catch other fish before they escape.

Fish you hunt can join your collection.

But remember:

even the largest predator can end up on the hook.

CATCH YOUR FRIENDS

You can also join the match as a fisherman.

Choose a fishing spot, prepare your gear, use the right groundbait, and cast your rod.

But beneath the surface, there are more than just AI-controlled fish.

One of them might be your friend.

When a player gets hooked, a direct struggle between fish and fisherman begins.

The fisherman tries to reel it in.

The fish tries to break free and escape.

EARN AND COLLECT FISH

Expand your collection with new species acquired during play.

Catch fish as a fisherman, hunt them as a predator, and use the specimens you earn in later matches.

But choose carefully.

If you lose your fish during a match, you may lose it from your collection too.

The more valuable the fish you take with you, the more you risk.

CREATE YOUR OWN POND AND PLAY ON IT WITH FRIENDS

Buy more land and create your own ponds from scratch. Shape the fishing ground and place obstacles, decorations, and passages between areas.

Your pond can be a peaceful home for your collected fish or a fully fledged multiplayer map.

Invite friends, choose the rules, and see how the fishing ground you created performs in play.

You can also share finished maps through the Steam Workshop and download levels made by the community.

There can always be something bigger than you underwater.

Above the surface, someone may be casting a line right now.

And the fish you are trying to catch…

might be looking back at you from another monitor.
