About the Game

Wasteland Spirit

Wasteland Spirit is a dark, atmospheric survival experience in which you play as a wandering spirit bound to the Ethereal Realm. From this otherworldly sanctuary, you travel to hostile and forgotten worlds to uncover mysteries, gather rare resources, and return home to build and expand your personal farmstead through cultivation, crafting, and other upgrades.

The Ethereal Realm is the only place where your spirit can exist safely. Upon entering foreign worlds, you must swiftly possess a living host to endure their brutal environments. Any living being can serve as your vessel — humans, animals, or even the undead. Through your chosen host, you will explore, fight rival entities, fish for resources, and survive as long as possible before returning home. Should your host perish, your spirit is forcibly returned to the Ethereal Realm and all carried items are dropped in the world where you fell.

The Ethereal Realm

The Ethereal Realm is your home. Customize and shape it with placeable objects such as light sources to illuminate dark areas, storage for your expanding inventory, and displays to showcase your most prized items.

Items

Unearth and craft hundreds of items, including weapons, tools, consumables, seeds, traps, and more.

Crafting

Combine up to five different items, each in varying quantities, to create a wide range of tools, utilities, and decorative objects. While crafting is available from the start, many recipes must be discovered — and some remain secret. Experiment and mix materials to uncover new combinations.

Farming

Grow a wide variety of crops and raise captured animals.

Fishing

Capture many different kinds of fish. Different fish can be found in different bodies of water.

Profit

Sacrifice unwanted items and farm products at the well to earn points toward upgrade gems and other rewards, including materials and recipes. Items can also be traded or sold at select shops.

Upgrading

Use upgrade gems to enhance your spirit in various ways. Upgrades can be swapped to better suit the task at hand.

Possess

Possess any living entity and take control of their abilities, or return them to your farm to inhabit your world. Even tiny creatures like fireflies can be possessed.
