Wanderblue

About the Game

Wanderblue is a rhythm-roguelite inspired by Patapon, reimagined in a top-down format closer to Enter the Gungeon and drawing inspiration from the adventure structure of Sea of Thieves.

It combines rhythmic commands with tactical squad control in an original world: you’ll explore a living ocean filled with islands, recruit a crew from characters you meet along your journey, and plunder mysterious haunted treasures to grow stronger!

Gameplay

At its core, the game is about issuing commands through rhythm. You play notes sequences of four beats and each pattern gives a different order to your crew.

Attacking, defending, or repositioning... everything happens through rhythm!

The challenge is to read the situation, choose the right command, and execute it on beat to maximize damage, minimize incoming threats and keep your crew alive.

Beyond rhythmic execution, the game has a strong strategic layer. Across a run, you build your crew by combining different units, abilities & equipment. Each run is about synergy and adaptation: choosing the right setup for the challenges ahead.

As the captain of your crew, your main objective will be to explore the Wanderblue: a vast world-spanning ocean filled with islands that mysteriously drift and rearrange over time. Hidden across these islands lie cursed treasures containing powerful artifacts that you’ll seek out to strengthen your crew.

Visuals

Visually, the game is a fully stylized 2D experience designed to feel like a living illustration. Almost everything is hand-animated, with a focus on clarity, charm, and a strong visual identity.
