Under Protocol
About the Game

The year is 2027. Humanity has managed to preserve some of its technology, but the world has changed beyond recognition. More than a year has passed since the height of the World War, which left the surface blanketed in radioactive dust.
Recently, I was offered a new job — the position of a duty officer at a checkpoint. The entrance is anything but safe: high radiation, rising crime, unending tension. Yet the pay is triple, the price for survival.
Rumors spread of distant Siberia, where people live freely on the surface, unafraid of death. Lands once abandoned now whisper of paradise — but at what cost?
I am former KGB Captain Mikhail Sergeyevich Molotov. I’m taking this risk for my family—my wife and our young daughter. I’m close to having enough for a ticket to the “Clean Lands”… but will I make it?
How It Plays
There’s a line at the checkpoint. People arrive with different stories, professions, papers, and goals: some seek refuge, some need work, some try to bring in what they shouldn’t.
The choice is yours. Approve or deny—every decision affects your reputation, bonuses, and risk.
Document Checks
Verify identity: photo, full name, date of birth, ID numbers, matching stamps and seals.
Cross-check biography and education.
Use the internal database to verify document authenticity.
Radiation Monitoring
Measure the dose rate (µSv/h) with a portable dosimeter.
Compare the reading against the in-game table of permissible levels—thresholds vary by role and condition.
Baggage Scanner
Run items through the X-ray scanner. Watch for contraband, weapons, radioactive materials, and illegal substances. Separate the harmless from the prohibited.
CCTV Camera
Periodically check the CCTV monitor.
Respond to alerts—camera blackouts, suspicious objects or silhouettes. Ignoring them can be costly.
Risks & Consequences
Reputation. With command—for discipline and metrics; with residents—for compassion or toughness; with the black market—for “cooperation” or integrity.
Economy. Salary; fines for mistakes; bounties for violations caught; expenses for medicine, filters, and rations. Every error pushes your Siberia dream further out of reach.
Health. Working by the entrance and constant inspections increase your cumulative dose. Shields, graphite/lead panels, and filters reduce risk—if you can afford them.
Moral dilemmas. A sick child with “clean” papers; a veteran with a dubious dosimeter badge; a talented engineer with an expired pass… law or conscience?
Modes & Goals
Story. Play through a season of shifts, balancing law, humanity, and your family’s survival.
Survival. An endless line, rising risks, growing demands, and a tight economy.
Endings. Save enough to send your loved ones to the “Clean Zone,” or… face a different fate.
Under Protocol is a game about order and compassion in a world after the end. Your protocol is your conscience. Your decisions are someone’s life.
