TurtleCAD 3D
About the Game
TurtleCAD 3D is an open-ended programming puzzle game/toy about writing code to pilot a sea turtle to create 3D polygonal graphics.
APPROACHABLE DESIGN
Heavily inspired by the classic program "LOGO", you use simple syntax and commands to guide a sea turtle around in space, creating vertices, edges, and triangles to construct polygonal graphics.
FRIENDLY AND SATISFYING PUZZLES
The "story" consists of puzzles where players need to recreate an object with their own code, or upgrade an existing object's code to have adjustable parameters. Easy and thoughtful sequencing means the game starts out very beginner-friendly and eventually graduates to more complex topics.
PLAY AROUND
You can always open the TurtleCAD tool in "free edit" mode and just play around, making whatever you want. Try some commands and see what happens!
JOIN THE COMMUNITY
Every puzzle has 2 leaderboards, measuring source code size, and execution efficiency. Often optimizing for one will be at the expense of the other. If you enjoy trying to squeeze a bit more out of your code, the leaderboards are waiting!
There is also an in-game online forum where players can share their own creations, and even challenge other players to try to recreate them, all presented in an old-school online forum wrapper.
NOSTALGIC INTERFACE
The entire game takes place on a fictional OS reminiscent of classic Silicon Graphics IRIX workstations from the late 1990's. Open up different applications, multitask, and enjoy the immersive retro vibes.
