Tomb of Dread

Tomb of Dread

About the Game

STORY

You play as an archeologist with a troubled mind. Ever since you were a child, you've been having visions of terrifying alien lifeforms, ancient burial chambers, and artifacts of impossible geometry. The haunting hallucinations have driven you toward a life of researching ancient civilizations and their rituals. One night, the entrance of an undiscovered Tomb reveals itself to you in a dream. You cannot deny its call and decide to venture into Egypt to find it. You hope that whatever lies inside the dusty halls of its confines will finally cure you of your delusions.

However, something is wrong with reality. The deeper you descend into the Tomb, the wider the cracks become. Unfinished areas and scrapped mechanics start bleeding into the structured halls of meaningful narrative. At first, these glitches or corruptions may seem like a hindrance; however, if you learn to manipulate them, they can show you the truth. That which your ancestors tried so hard to hide from you may finally see the light of day.

GAMEPLAY

  • Deep sanity system

Manage your sanity. Avoid stressful situations, or actively seek them out. The outside world changes based on your character's inside world. And for some... Madness is also an option.

  • Stealth and resource management

There are many weapons to be found; however, resources are scarce. You'll need to consider whether to use your last bullets to defend yourself or find alternative ways to sneak by threats.

  • Creatures with unique behaviors

Every entity you encounter is just like you. Lost and trying to make sense of its existence. Some are curious and may observe from afar. And every action you take has a consequence on the way this society treats you.

  • Nonlinear exploration

Flush the toilet 4 times to enter the poisonous sewers. Fall out of bounds into a rusted industrial complex below. Let a creature drag you into the core of the ancient tombs' secret inner chambers. Do not play this game to win. The world is vast, and it's calling for you to embrace it.
