About the Game

Introduction

The Velan Reach is an adult Visual Novel set in a unique steampunk sci-fi setting, in which you play the role of Dr. Myron Reith (names can be changed in-game), a humble scientist who, together with his lovely assistant, is invited to join a noblewoman's expedition into the unknown and rediscover the long-lost location of the cradle of humanity. But you soon find yourself pulled into a web of intrigue as you get to know the other members of your expedition, each of whom have their own reasons for being there and motivations for interacting with you. 

Visiting strange and exotic new places, you will meet a host of people (including aliens and robots) as you deal with the events that unfold during your journey. Along the way, you will learn about their reasons to be there, become quite intimate with some of them if you so desire, and face challenges that may force all of you to rethink your original goals and ambitions.

Gameplay

The Velan Reach Book One is an adult Visual Novel with an emphasis on character driven story telling and romantic development with the love interest(s) of your choice, while offering ample opportunities for some fun adult diversions along the way if you so chose.

There will be multiple love interests, and they can be pursued at the same time. In fact, some story lines will play off of each other, and it is recommended to pursue all love interests at the same time if you don't want to miss any content.

This game has no dead-ends, no sudden game-overs, an you will never find yourself locked out of a character's path because you somehow failed to pick a "right" choice or accidentally flirted with another character without realizing. Every choice that has irreversible consequences for a relationship is clearly marked, and you will never have to choose between two love interests.

The game has some additional built-in walk-through options for players who prefer having extra guardrails present, even if there are no "bad" choices by design.

Development

Book one of The Velan Reach will tell the story of the first leg of the epic journey to recover the location of humanity's home world. It will consist of up to six chapters. Chapter one is fully playable upon release into early access, additional chapters will be made available as episodic content during the early access period.
