Historically, Liu Bei was designated by Tao Qian as his successor, but in this work, derived from "Records of the Three Kingdoms" and "Heroes' Chronicles," Liu Bei’s succession in Xuzhou is manipulated by the Chen Deng and Mi Zhu families, who chose him for his lack of experience, seeing him as a potential puppet.
