The Shame of a Daydreamer

The Shame of a Daydreamer

About the Game

SHAME & CHOICES = POSSIBLE APOCALYPSE

Prevent this possible “apocalypse” from happening by interacting with the mysterious world and its morally grey characters to figure out what’s causing the world to reach a dead end, and find out what choices you need to do and not do to avoid game over.

In the mind of a daydreamer, you can find:

2 playable characters with such different content that it’s almost like 2 games in 1

6 days, each with different things to explore and experience, and different consequences to suffer or enjoy

→ a complex story with many different possible paths and endings, more or less tragic or hopeful depending on how you play it

→ a unique game mechanic where shame and mind affects the gameplay

dialogue and choice heavy gameplay

→ a great amount of good writing - so be prepared to read!

→ many different choices with many possible consequences, where both the “good” and “bad” options can reward the player with interesting content and useful knowledge (the mind of a daydreamer is a spider web of red threads with endless possible scenarios with hundreds of variables

→ a colorful (but not cozy) hand drawn environment, taking place in a seemingly normal made-up small Swedish town that hides something … out of this world

→ it’s not an erotic game, but it is perverse - but also repressed, both sex positive and sex repulsed, and filled with deep longing and unbearable shame

SOME OF THE CHARACTERS YOU WILL MEET IN THE GAME:

Elias. He seems warm and kind,

but his father says you should fear him. Who can

you trust? He seems older than he’s on paper.

Elliott. Elias’ father. He’s crouching,

but that doesn’t fool anyone. He’s too tall to walk

around in the world as anonymously as he’d want.

His shame is crippling.

Alice. Elliott’s girlfriend. She

looks very young, but don’t worry: Elias checked

her ID to calm both his and your paranoia, and

she is an adult.

Felix. His mom (?) calls him

Cain and mocks him. Does he deserve her harsh

words and cruel jokes?

Levi. Felix’s parent. As someone

from her past wrote: “A hard smile on lips so soft.”

I think she feels way more than she shows.

Sebastian. Levi’s brother, unknown

to Felix until recently. Why did Levi never tell Felix about him?

CHOOSE YOUR VESSEL OF SHAME

Which character you choose to play as will greatly affect your experience, and it’s recommended to try to play as both characters to get the fullest picture of their world and understand how and why it can reach a dead end because of your choices or lack thereof, and to figure out how to avoid it happening.
