The Real Guest

About the Game

<The Real Guest> is a psychological horror game built with Unreal Engine 5 that blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and the hunt for pseudo-humans. Developed entirely by a solo creator, the game uses a body-camera perspective and combines photorealistic graphics with spatial audio to deliver a deeply immersive experience.

The eye of the storm watches. The long night has no end.

At first, people thought it was just another ordinary typhoon, carrying the briny smell of the sea. But the gales did not relent after three days, nor after seven. Rain hammered against the windowpanes like countless restless fingers. The dark clouds never parted, and the world drowned beneath a gray, endless sea. You huddle in your home, listening to the sounds tangled within the wind—sounds that do not belong to the storm. As water and electricity gradually fail, as communication is completely severed, you finally understand: the true apocalypse never once sounded its final note.

And the voices carried on the wind belong to the “pseudo-humans.”

The rain blurs your sight, yet the knocking at the door is unnervingly clear. A soaking figure stands outside, shivering, begging for shelter. Their face, their words, the terror in their eyes—all indistinguishable from a neighbor in distress. But human or pseudo-human? Words alone prove nothing.

Every knock brings a flawless excuse: a lost traveler, a storm-stricken neighbor, a weary wanderer heading home. They arrive drenched, eyes earnest, their stories betraying not a single crack.

Core Premise

You play as the innkeeper. Your job is to decide whether each arrival is human or pseudo-human. Follow the same routine as always: register their identity, study their appearance and behavior, assign them a room. Only this time, a mistake doesn’t cost you a bad review—it costs everyone their lives.
