The One I Saw

The One I Saw

About the Game

Some houses remember you.

After the death of his mother, a man returns to the house where he spent much of his childhood to arrange what remains before the property is sold.

A storm forces him to spend the night.

He goes to sleep.

He wakes up downstairs.

And the house is no longer the same.

THE HOUSE

The One I Saw is a first-person psychological horror experience set inside a house based on the real home where its developer spent much of his childhood.

Explore a familiar domestic space that becomes increasingly unreliable with every loop. Objects move, rooms change, lights behave differently, sounds appear where there was silence before, and events may unfold simply because you stopped long enough to notice something.

There is no combat and no constant stream of objectives telling you where to go. The experience is built around exploration, observation and the feeling that something inside the house is changing around you.

THE LOOP

The house remembers how you behave.

Certain objects react when watched, others when approached or interacted with, while more significant discoveries are tracked separately. What the player notices — or completely misses — can influence events and changes in later loops.

You can move quickly through the house and continue forward.

Or you can stop, look around and begin to understand why things are happening.

THE STORY

Three timelines gradually collide: the protagonist's return to the house as an adult, memories of the childhood he spent there, and the history of the people who lived within its walls long before him.

What the protagonist saw as a child was never fully understood.

Now the house is giving him another chance.

Pay attention to what changes, uncover what happened before his family ever lived there, and discover what it will take for both the protagonist and the house to finally let go.
