The Lost Melody

The Lost Melody

About the Game

The Lost Melody is a narrative-driven 2D adventure with a non-linear storyline that tells its story through world exploration, character interactions, and contextual mechanics. The game follows a boy named Timothy who, seeking to make amends with his mother, decides to return to his long-abandoned music practice. Unable to remember a single note, he embarks on a journey to recreate her favorite melody.

The story unfolds in a small village called Villinglive, inspired by childhood memories of summer at the countryside.

The player sees the world through Timothy's eyes. They can choose how to interact with the surrounding world by switching between two modes: reality and imagination.

Imagination is a dynamic and playful mode where everything is exaggerated and absurd, just like in childhood fantasies. This mode is full of silly and even crazy elements.

Reality is a calm and meditative mode focused on world exploration and deep immersion.

On his journey, Timothy will encounter various characters: a school teacher who lost his daughter, an electrician who dreamed of becoming an artist, a university dropout who now doesn't know what to do with her life, and many, many others.

Timothy will try to help them resolve their personal tragedies in either reality or imagination modes.

The world of Villinglive is filled with interactive elements and side activities: mini-games, collectible items, character customization, hidden objects, and additional quests. Interaction with the environment is an integral part of the game's storytelling and atmosphere.

The musical score dynamically evolves with the player's progress. As Timothy advances through the game, he finds notes that complement the musical theme. Depending on the choices made, the final composition will be unique for each player.
