The Last Phoenix is a platformer RPG about Felix, a goblin who possesses a demonic power of reincarnation. With it, he must save his kind from eradication!

In this game dying is good. Death lets you upgrade skills to be reborn stronger!

Gameplay: Platformer RPG with combat that feels like early game Terraria.

Felix wields a fire gauntlet that serves both as a weapon and a tool for movement. It can keep him airborne or launch him to higher ground. Aim it in any direction to master fast, fluid combat and traversal.

You’ll also have several weapons and items to experiment with. Your fire gauntlet can burn thorns. Hammers can break dirt blocks and ore, dealing heavy damage with strong knockback, but they’re slow. Swords are faster, but can’t break through obstacles. Fun spells and items provide more gameplay variety.

Humans are hunting the goblins and burning their villages. Felix now travels with his niece, Lotus, in a caravan of survivors, always on the move to stay alive. The caravan pursues the cultists responsible for the slaughter to strike back.

Obor is a legendary warrior and mentor. Now retired, he forges weapons for the caravan and passes on his valuable wisdom to Felix, his pupil. He doesn’t regret the battles he fought, only the years lost with his daughters.

Lotus, Felix's niece, is all that’s left of his family. She hides her sorrow behind stubborn questions and small acts of defiance. She’s frightened but never still, fragile yet full of life. Felix couldn’t save her parents, but he’ll do anything to protect her.

Evelyn, Obor’s cynical daughter, helps care for Lotus, who reminds her of the little sister she lost. She’s been through enough to nearly lose hope, yet she still hums joyful melodies from distant places. Restless and clever, she’s always tinkering with charms. Felix’s steadiness grounds her, though she’d never admit it.

Netopier the bat flies you between levels. He doesn’t speak, but if he could, he would have some grand stories to tell. Magnificent and mysterious, he’s loyal, yet independent.

Descend caverns to reach the bottom at your own pace, in your own way. Discover the quickest route or spend some time mining ore and exploring to find treasure.

Levels have challenges for you to complete that unlock bonus lore. 

Dying is good! Use the blood you’ve collected to unlock new abilities at Blood Root, a living skill tree. In many games, death is punishment, but in The Last Phoenix, it’s progress. Each time Felix falls, he’s reborn stronger.

Blood Root is the ancient God of the goblins. The humans cut It down, but It survived and now It thirsts for revenge.

A plague tore through humanity. Unaffected by it, the goblins were blamed. The plague brought out the worst in people. Some goblins went into hiding as the humans waged war. Religious fanatics hunted the goblins, burning their villages and drinking their blood to suppress the sickness. They call it salvation. Felix suffered one such purge. Now he rides in a battered caravan, haunted by screams and anger, his mind carrying the weight of the dead. The humans cut down Blood Root, the God of the goblins. But It survived, and now through Felix seeks revenge.
