The Ladder
About the Game
The Ladder is a first-person psychological horror experience with walking simulator elements, where the player moves through a chain of memories that together form a single life.
Each level is not just a location, but a frozen moment from the past — a decision, a compromise, a mistake, or an attempt at self-justification. As you ascend the staircase, you revisit key events that shaped who you became.
There are no clear “right” or “wrong” choices. Instead, your decisions alter the perception of events, dialogue, atmosphere, and ultimately the ending itself.
The game focuses on internal tension rather than external threats. There are no traditional enemies or combat. The unease is built through environment, sound design, pacing, and the constant feeling of being watched.
As the world slowly distorts around you, it begins to reflect the protagonist’s psychological state.
Multiple endings offer different interpretations of the journey, inviting players to reflect on what truly happened.
This is a slow, atmospheric experience for those who seek meaning, emotion, and introspection rather than action.
