The Grounds-Keeper

The Grounds-Keeper

About the Game

The night shift

The scythe is hung up. The ledger is closed. Somewhere along the way Death

decided he'd rather keep a tidy cemetery than an orderly one, and now he spends

his evenings pushing a ghostly mower between the headstones while the lanterns

burn low.

The Groundskeeper is a quiet isometric game about doing honest work in a

beautiful place. There is nothing chasing you. There is no clock. There is a

lawn that needs cutting, and it will still be there tomorrow.

Three tools, one long night

  • The Ghost Mower — a spectral push mower that leaves neat striped rows through overgrown spirit-grass. Cutting a full lane in one pass is its own small reward.

  • Spray & Brush — work centuries of grime off weathered stone until the carving reads again and the marker glows softly in the dark.

  • The Leaf Basket — a backpack that draws drifting autumn leaves out of the air. Fill it, haul it to the compost bin, and feel the whole load land at once.

Fifteen plots, three grounds

Begin in The Old Yard, a handful of crooked markers under low trees. Work

your way through Chapel Row and up to Crypt Hill, where the graves

stand tall and the grass comes in thick.

Earn it, then upgrade it

Tended ground pays in Grave Coins. Spend them on seven permanent

improvements — a wider mower deck, sharper spirit blades, a pressure pump, a

larger tank, a deeper basket, a stronger draft, and a pair of Grave-Walker boots

that carry you across the grounds a little faster. Every purchase is felt

immediately, and nothing is ever taken away.

Something always follows you

A Ghost Cat trots along beside you from the first night. Six companions

in all wait in the kennel — a Crypt Bat, a Faithful Hound, a

Grave Wolf, a Churchyard Serpent, a Spirit Tiger — each one

padding after you through the rows, keeping you company while you tend to the chores.

Gameplay in trailer may be outdated due to constant work on project. Graphics and assets may differ at launch. :)
