The Friendship Protocol
About the Game

Since the 1980s, a legend has circulated in southern Chile: radio transmissions from Friendship, an island no nautical chart could place, home to a community no one could find.
Meridian Resource Systems has finally traced the signal. Through the static, only one word is clear, "Friendship", and the corporation turns it into the name of an operation. You are ATL-03, a reconnaissance specialist of the A.T.L.A.S. corps, sent in to recover anything of value.
What you find is what remains of a scientific community that lived on the island for decades, studying KURA: a material that exists nowhere else, able to store, transmit and transform information, energy and life. Their facilities are still running. So are their machines.
- Prepare at the Base. Choose your gear, review what you know and take your orders from M.R.S. Control.
- Enter hostile sectors. Temperate rainforest, rocky coastline, fog, peat bogs and concrete bunkers. No minimap: you read the terrain and you listen to it.
- Avoid or fight. Each of the Community's security machines behaves its own way. Learn their patterns, break their weak points, or stay out of sight.
- Decide what fits. Your inventory is limited. Supplies, ammunition or the evidence that moves the story forward: something always stays behind.
- Extract or lose it all. Die before reaching an extraction point and everything you carried on that run is gone.

Every record, map, photograph and sample you bring back answers part of a question the corporation is not asking: who were these people, what were they looking for, and why did they disappear? The evidence is incomplete, and sometimes it contradicts itself. And the island seems to know you are coming.

- Single-player PvE extraction. No other players and no always-online requirement.
- A story told by the place. Architecture, signage, documents and old transmissions that interfere with your current orders.
- Machines altered by KURA. Aerial units, quadrupeds and a human-scale biped, each with its own sound signature.
- Faro on the radio. Your operator aboard the M.R.S. ship offshore guides you and reports what does not add up.
- Southern Chilean science fiction. Analog science from the late seventies, brutalist concrete and a corporation that labels everything as an asset.
