SYSCALL: RING ZERO
About the Game
SYSCALL
This is our world now. The world of the electron and the switch.
SYSCALL is a reverse-engineering and assembly optimization puzzle game inside a private 1990s warez BBS. You will be writing assembly programs, reading listings, tracing the machine, changing the code, and shipping the crack.

READ THE CODE THAT RUNS
Every CRACK release is a small SYSCALL CORE program. You are able to trace programs, inspect assembly instructions, get hints and watch registers move, in order to find the way to TRACE, CRACK and PATCH programs.
FOUR WAYS TO HACK THE NETWORK
CRACK: Read the listing, find the secret input key, and bypass the protection.
PATCH: Fit the smallest fix into fixed edit slots, then run the test battery.
WORM: Program a dynamic up to nine-core rack, route values across ports, and cut lines and cycles.
SCOPE: Write firmware until the live trace locks onto the ghost signal.

SOLVED IS ONLY THE FIRST POST
SYSCALL has 200+ authored puzzles across four modes, but the clear is not the end. The board keeps records. CRACK tracks clean and swift solves. PATCH scores moves. WORM scores lines and cycles against REMOTE posts. SCOPE rewards tight firmware and low power. A working answer gets you in. A clean answer gets your name on the board.
A PRIVATE BOARD WITH REAL TOOLS
Dial in, pick a node on the NETWORK MAP, read the mail, check the notes, and work the releases. The board has PHILES that teach the SYSCALL CORE, crew messages, NFOs, greets, records, and side tools. CANVAS is a freeform assembly pixel toy. TRACKER is a four-channel chip-tune maker you can set as the board music.

BUILT FOR CONTROLLER, KEYBOARD, AND MOUSE
Every screen is playable with a gamepad, including text entry. You can write assembly on your favorite handheld gaming device or your TV! SYSCALL includes a tuned on-screen keyboard, controller command bars, readable scaling, reduced-motion options, and offline play with no accounts or backend.
