Sibylline
About the Game
Sibylline is a layered FMV horror game where your own spoken words become active threats. Perform your lines using your microphone, unleash living glyphs, and fight back as distortion spreads across the screen.
Built on a custom speech-recognition game engine, Sibylline combines live-action horror, voice performance, and reactive gameplay into a cinematic nightmare.
Participate in an apocalyptic horror story as it unfolds across multiple layers of live-action footage. Sibylline draws you through shifting scenes of execution, ritual, and optical projection, pulling you deeper into a nightmare shaped by language, performance, and hostile symbols.
How it works
You are prompted with lines to speak aloud.
When the game recognizes your words, their letters are released into the scene as gameplay elements:
White letters increase your score
Blue letters can be collected and used for power-ups
Red letters become hostile glyphs that distort the screen and spread corruption
Use the cursor to de-distort the image, destroy hostile glyphs, and keep the world from collapsing around you.
Fall through fractured reality
Sibylline unfolds across multiple layers of FMV reality. As distortion intensifies, the current layer can no longer hold. If corruption becomes too severe, you fall through that layer of film and descend deeper into the nightmare.
