Settlers Cycle

Settlers Cycle

About the Game

You are tasked with settling the frontier.

Build a city, develop it into a thriving settlement, then send settlers to found a new city deeper in the wilderness. Your previous settlements do not disappear - they continue supporting your newest city, creating an ever-growing network of interconnected settlements.

This is the Settlers Cycle.

 The Settlers Cycle

Every city eventually reaches a point where it can launch a new group of settlers.

When you establish a new city, your previous city remains in the game. It will:

  • Periodically provide Town Points and resources to your new settlement.

  • Offer trade deals.

  • Occasionally develop resource shortages that you can fulfill for additional rewards.

  • Be donated to your faction to earn Favor and free up regional city slots.

Your previous cities remain in game. Every settlement becomes part of a growing support network, making each new city easier to develop while rewarding long-term planning.

 Develop Your City

Each new settlement begins as little more than a few tents.

Purchase Town Points to develop different aspects of your city. Higher Town Point levels unlock new research, products, and beneficial events within their respective categories.

Each Town Point also generates Production Points that can be spent on:

  • Research

  • Products

 Specialize Your Cities

Every faction offers unique city specializations.

A specialization grants additional Production Points while you actively control the city.

Once you establish a new settlement, your previous city's specialization also determines:

  • Which Town Points it periodically provides.

  • Which resources it supplies.

  • Which trade offers it generates.

Your previous cities continue to support and shape the growth of future settlements.

 Heroes

Recruit heroes and organize them into adventuring parties.

Heroes can:

  • Slay nearby monsters.

  • Hunt dangerous spellcasters.

  • Intercept incoming enemy armies and defeat their champions to weaken attacks before they reach your city.

  • Complete Heartland Quests.

  • Complete expeditions to obtain Maps required to found new settlements.

  • Explore the wilderness for additional resources.

Heroes improve by investing resources rather than gaining experience.

There is no permanent death.

 Defend Your Settlement

The frontier is dangerous. Monsters, evil spellcasters, and invading armies constantly threaten your city.

Send your heroes to eliminate nearby threats before they can damage your settlement.

When enemy armies approach, your heroes can defeat their champions to reduce the strength of the incoming attack before your city's troops fight the remaining forces.

 Explore the Frontier

The wilderness must be secured before you can expand.

Clear monster-infested areas to obtain Holdings, a resource required to launch your next settler caravan and establish a new city.

Complete expeditions to chart unexplored territories and obtain Maps, another requirement for founding new settlements.

Both Holdings and Maps are essential for expanding your frontier network.

 Your Region

Each region has a limited number of city slots.

From the regional overview you can:

  • Collect supplies from previous cities.

  • Trade with them.

  • Fulfill their shortages for additional Town Points and resources.

  • Donate cities to your faction to earn Favor and free city slots for future settlements.

Managing your regional network is just as important as developing your active city.

 Factions

You begin as a city of the Human Kingdom, but your allegiance can change.

As you discover new factions, you may join them to gain access to unique:

  • City specializations

  • Gameplay modifiers

  • Favor Shop items

Support your faction in its wars by contributing Town Points.

Earn Favor for your contributions and spend it to unlock city specializations, request valuable support from your faction, or influence diplomacy by forging new alliances or dissolving existing ones.

 Favor

Favor represents your standing and influence with your faction.

Earn Favor by:

  • Sending resources to the Heartlands.

  • Supporting your faction in its wars.

  • Donating cities to your faction.

Spend Favor to:

  • Request Town Point packages from your faction.

  • Unlock city specializations.

  • Influence your faction's diplomacy.

 Heartland Quests

The Heartlands regularly request the aid of adventurers.

Choose your reward, assign heroes to multi-turn quests, and make strategic decisions throughout their journey.

 Talent Requests

As more adventurers leave the Heartlands to seek fortune on the frontier, kingdoms, guilds, and merchants struggle to fill important positions.

Organizations may approach your Adventurers' Guild with offers to permanently recruit one of your heroes. Decide whether to keep the adventurer or accept compensation for allowing them to join another organization.
