Robot Rhapsody

About the Game

Robot Rhapsody is a 'new-retro' cinematic RPG set in a future world on the edges of machine singularity.

❤️‍🔥 Challenging turn-based combat, inspired by classic RPGs.
⚙️ HACK robot enemies to join the party. UPGRADE them all with distinct items and parts.
💥 Story Themes touching AI, futurism, cultism, dystopias, and transcendence.
🗺️ Open-ended exploration.

💥 Follow Selva, a cynical luddite mercenary.

Formerly trained to hunt “rogue” robots, she now lives off-grid in exile.
Yet new events drag her back to the technocratic future she can’t escape.

⚙️ Her ally is Jiro, a boy raised entirely within the Aethar Hives;
Underground bomb shelters that have been transformed into AI-controlled “utopias.”

Jiro's every move is micromanaged by “godlike” AGI, robots, photo-real VR, and negative-emotion-suppressing systems.

Despite their opposite nature, the two are ultimately drawn together.
A reluctant friendship that sparks widespread rebellion.

💥 Explore a war-scorched former metropolis; Zoxxo City.

  • Various new neighborhoods, shortcuts, quests, & secrets appear incrementally as the story unfolds!

  • Colorful street vendors, machine smugglers, stem-cell harvesters, cultish luddites, and a deranged robotic carnival troupe are among dozens of NPCs you'll encounter. Inspired by Majora's Mask, they each have their own evolving schedules.

Navigate the BOUNTY system:

Players will be hunted by malevolent robots, to a greater or lesser extent, stemming from player choices!

  • Gain the chance to Inflict machine-specific status effects, such as SHORT-CIRCUIT (electric stun), and VIRUS (confused/berserk behavior), to disadvantage the robot foes.

  • Certain characters can use HACK, forcing some robotic enemies to fight alongside the party—or even upgrade them.

Unlike human allies; once robot allies reach K/O status, they're gone forever.

Unlike Beloved Rapture, our previous title - in Robot Rhapsody, most of the game's world will be completely open from the very start of the game, encouraging greater replay value, and player-defined consequences. The sprawling world offers freedom for the player to chart their own path - yet the "main story" remains cinematic/linear.
