Posthumors

About the Game

Welcome to the Online Near-Death Experience Project, “Posthumors”!

Thank you sincerely for taking an interest in our project.

Did you know that it has become possible to communicate with the afterlife through correspondence?

Yes, we understand how difficult that may be to believe. That is precisely why we decided the best approach would be for you to experience it firsthand.

That said, the project is currently still in its experimental phase.

You will be observing the lives of “problematic ghosts” being kept in containment for research purposes, and may freely exchange letters with them.

Yes — freely.

Whether you choose to rehabilitate them, guide them toward escape, or abandon them entirely is up to you.

You may write whatever you wish.

But remember: words carry consequences.

【Controls & Features】

— About Letters —

When you look into the postbox, you will find a ghost inside the room.

By opening the “POST” tab in the lower-left corner, you may compose and send letters to the ghost.

After sending a letter, you will receive a reply anywhere from one day to several days later.

Responses from ghosts can be viewed by opening the “LOG” tab in the lower-right corner.

※Time can be skipped. You don't need to wait for a reply in real time.

— Other Interactions —

In addition to letters, you may also send various items through the Home screen.

If there is something you wish to give them — or something they request — feel free to send it along.

To ensure that even first-time participants in near-death experiences can enjoy the project, each user is assigned a personal helper who will guide them through the experience as part of the “Tutorial.”

【Streaming & Let’s Play Content】

Please feel free to stream or create content about the game!

We would appreciate it if you could include the game’s title somewhere in your stream or video description.

A special Streaming Mode is available, which censors words that may be treated as inappropriate or sensitive by certain platforms.

You can enable it either from the title screen or via the Home screen’s Settings menu by turning on the green checkmark next to:

“Look Away from Death.”

If you would like to stream the game but are worried about restrictions or moderation issues, please feel free to make use of this feature.

Additionally, because this game deals heavily with themes such as death and mental illness, we ask that all streamers and content creators provide appropriate content warnings and mention these themes in their video descriptions or related sections, regardless of whether Streaming Mode is enabled or disabled.

Through this project, we hope you will reflect upon death anew, and discover something meaningful from the experience.

[Attention] Currently, this project only supports Japanese.
