Politisim

About the Game

You are running for President. Every week is a choice — a donor dinner or a rally in Des Moines, a positive ad in Pennsylvania or an opposition hit that might backfire, a policy rollout or a fundraising sprint because the bank is too thin to keep the lights on.

PolitiSim is a single-player political strategy simulator where you build a candidate, fight through a crowded primary, choose a running mate at the convention, and carry your coalition across the electoral map. A reactive opposition watches what you do — visit Pennsylvania three weeks in a row and the rivals show up too; dominate the debates and they pivot onto your weakest issue. No multiplayer, no card packs — just you, the calendar, and a country that has already made up its mind about most states and is paying very close attention to the handful it has not.

What You Actually Do

- **Build a candidate.** Choose your party, regional base, ideology mix, and three signature issues. Your coalition is not a preset — it is the shape of the voters you can and cannot win.

- **Fight the primary.** Face a full rival field across a state-by-state calendar. Win delegates, survive televised debates, chase endorsements, and keep the cash flowing long enough to reach the convention.

- **Pick your running mate.** At the convention, choose a VP from a scenario-specific bench. Each pick reshapes your map.

- **Run the general.** Build battleground field offices, deploy volunteers and surrogates, buy state-level ads, and pressure the states that will actually decide 270.

- **Hold it together on election night.** Watch calls come in in real time. Your earlier decisions — the debate you sandbagged, the state you abandoned in July, the scandal you paid to bury — are all scored at once.

Launch Features

- **Run six authored scenarios** spanning a modern cycle, two alternate 2024s, a historical 2012 recovery, a 2032 climate-and-AI cycle, and a 1992-flavored comeback where you start twenty points behind.

- **Fight 50 states and D.C.** with their own demographics, partisan lean, and turnout behavior — no two maps play the same way.

- **Survive live debates** with real choice architecture: answers shape trust, momentum, and coalition math, not just a score bar.

- **Outplay a reactive opposition** that counter-books your state swings, matches your ad buys, and pivots to issues you're weak on.

- **Chase 29 Steam achievements** from first-ballot nominations to 20-point comebacks, landslide generals, and running-a-scandal-survivor primary gauntlet.

Who This Is For

PolitiSim is built for strategy-sim players who enjoy long-horizon resource management, hard tradeoffs, and a campaign that scores you on decisions you made twenty weeks ago. It is not an action game, not a debate-only game, and not a map-painter. It is a campaign.
