POLDERS

POLDERS

About the Game

Build historic Dutch towns in a Townscaper-like flow. The streets in POLDERS are crooked and imperfect, creating interesting spatial puzzles and picturesque villages full of personality.

In POLDERS, production chains form naturally! By giving villagers a roof over their heads, they become an active part of your city. As you build farms, mills and bakeries, villagers automatically take on the work. They will harvest grain, turn it into flour and bake bread. As you trade these goods you can use your hard earned gulden to expand your village. Soon it'll be the thriving city it once was.

Don’t just place buildings, but create the very land they stand on! Dykes and windmills allow you to reclaim territory, but the water is never far away. Treat it well, and it may guide trade ships your way or uncover hidden treasures. Neglect it, and it may flood your lands. Learn to live in harmony with the sea and your land will flourish.

POLDERS is an ode to the Netherlands, our home. Every building in the game actually exists and can be visited, or can be found in the works of Dutch master painters, like the brick houses in Vermeer’s Straatje. POLDERS shows how Netherlands came to be, and how its culture is shaped by the ongoing dance with the sea. We hope you enjoy creating your own piece of Dutch land!
