Phantom Containment
About the Game
🧬 JOIN EARLY. LEAVE A MARK.
Early Access is your chance to step into Phantom Containment before protocols are finalized.
During Early Access, players can earn legacy gear variants, experimental relics, and early-issue equipment tied to specific development phases. These items rotate with major updates and reflect the era in which they were obtained.
Legacy items are not stronger than later gear — they are different. Altered visuals, unique identifiers, and lore markings distinguish them as artifacts from an earlier containment era.
Once the game reaches version 1.0, Early Access legacy items will no longer be obtainable, preserving them as a permanent record of those who were there from the beginning.
Gear evolves. Protocols change.
History remembers who entered containment first.
📝 Note from the Developer
When development on Phantom Containment eventually reaches its conclusion, the game will not be shut down or locked away.
There are no planned kill-switches, forced server closures, or artificial end points. What you purchase remains playable on your terms.
If the community chooses to modify, extend, or reshape the game after its lifecycle ends, nothing will stand in the way. Phantom Containment is built to be explored, altered, and experimented with by those who know what they’re doing.
Once official development ends, the world doesn’t disappear — it simply becomes yours.
📚 A Living Bestiary of the Unknown
Phantom Containment is built around a growing archive of supernatural threats drawn from real-world mythology, folklore, historical accounts, and documented belief.
The long-term vision is an expansive and diverse bestiary — one that evolves over time, introducing new entities, variations, and cultural legends as the world expands.
No filler. No random creations.
🕯️ Rooted in Real Legends
Every entity is grounded in researched sources, including:
Mythology and regional folklore
Historical records and documented sightings
Cultural beliefs passed down through generations
Nothing is added without context. Every presence has a reason to exist.
🔬 Investigation Before Confrontation
Each supernatural threat is more than an enemy — it’s a mystery.
Entities feature:
Documented origins and background
Behaviors influenced by their real-world legends
Cultural storytelling tied to their place of origin
You’re not just facing the unknown.
You’re uncovering what humanity has feared — and why.
Over time, the archive is intended to grow into one of the most diverse collections of paranormal lore in the genre.
About the Game
🧬 Investigate. Deploy. Contain. Adapt.
Phantom Containment is a supernatural investigation and containment game built around contracts, consequence, and adaptation, blending survival horror, tactical decision-making, and long-term progression.
You are an independent paranormal contractor operating from a remote island where myths, cryptids, demons, and cursed artifacts are real — and officially denied. No central authority acknowledges the threat. Rival factions work in secrecy. The truth is fragmented, buried, and dangerous.
You are not sent to save the world.
You are sent to deal with what slips through.
Every contract is a calculated risk. Preparation matters. Extraction matters. What you bring back — or fail to — shapes what comes next.
🔥 Contracts Over Campaigns
There is no fixed storyline or linear campaign.
Progression in Phantom Containment is driven by contracts, discoveries, and the consequences of your choices.
Contracts are issued by rival supernatural factions, each with their own beliefs, methods, and objectives. Briefings provide partial intelligence: known threat classifications, environmental risks, and containment goals — but conditions can change rapidly.
A routine investigation can escalate without warning.
What starts as a ghost identification may turn into a containment failure, a roaming cryptid encounter, or something far worse.
Adapt — or abandon the mission.
🛡️ Headquarters & Growing Containment Facility
Between deployments, you return to your headquarters — an abandoned structure slowly converted into a functional containment and operations facility.
Your HQ is the only persistent space in the world.
From here you:
Build and upgrade operational rooms (first as crude concrete structures, later as advanced tech facilities)
Manage equipment, storage, and logistics
Accept contracts and prepare loadouts
Store and process recovered artifacts, samples, and evidence
The deeper you push into containment operations, the more the facility changes — and the more it begins to feel aware.
Your base is safe mechanically.
It is not entirely quiet.
🔎 Mission-Based Deployments
Contracts deploy you into shared locations that support multiple operation types:
Ghost investigations
Cryptid hunts
Relic recovery operations
Containment or purge contracts
The same environment can feel completely different depending on:
time of day
weather conditions
active threats
your equipment restrictions
contract objectives
Preparation is critical. You do not “clear” maps — you survive them.
Extraction is not automatic.
Anything you fail to recover is left behind.
📦 Physical Extraction & Consequences
Loot, relics, and objective items must be physically extracted from the field.
Recovered items are placed into extraction containers during missions and returned to HQ as unverified cargo. Only once processed at your base do they become usable, sellable, or valid for contract completion.
Forget to extract an item?
Lose it in the field?
Fail to plan your loadout?
That loss is permanent.
⚔️ Relics, Tools & Adaptive Equipment
Your effectiveness depends on the tools you choose — not raw firepower.
Relics possess unstable properties tied to myth, belief, and history
Investigative equipment can be upgraded, modified, or disrupted by anomalous exposure
Early progression focuses on survival, observation, and containment
Lethal weapons exist, but are rare, restricted, and late-game tools
Combat is an option — not a solution.
💽 Modular Loadouts & Upgrade Systems
Your approach to each contract is defined before deployment.
Through modular upgrades and equipment configurations, you can specialize in:
investigation and evidence gathering
mobility and evasion
containment and suppression
support and recovery
No single setup is optimal.
Environmental conditions, threat types, and faction alignment all matter.
Improvisation keeps you alive. Overconfidence gets you killed.
👻 Paranormal Threat Classes
Each threat type behaves differently and demands unique strategies:
Ghosts — psychological entities that manipulate perception and space
Demons — corruptive forces that escalate through ritual and exposure
Cryptids — physical predators encountered through dedicated hunt contracts
Cursed Objects — artifacts capable of destabilizing environments and systems
Understanding what you’re facing is often more important than confronting it directly.
⚖️ Factions & Alignment
Multiple factions compete for control over containment operations.
Aligning with a faction unlocks:
unique equipment and tools
specialized containment techniques
exclusive contracts and upgrades
But loyalty has consequences.
Supporting one faction may close doors elsewhere — or attract unwanted attention.
🏆 Containment Archive & Lore
Recovered entities, artifacts, and anomalies are cataloged within sealed containment spaces at your HQ.
Display relics, samples, and cursed objects
Uncover lore rooted in real-world mythology and folklore
Track what you’ve encountered — and what you’ve barely survived
Every object has a history.
Every mission leaves a mark.
🌍 A World That Remembers
The island is not static.
Time passes. Weather shifts. Conditions change.
The deeper you go, the more the world responds.
Phantom Containment is about tension, awareness, and consequence.
You are not a hero.
You are not in control.
You are simply the one willing to step inside —
and carry something back out.
