About the Game

Oversmoked Outlaws is a cozy BBQ-themed western fantasy farming game inspired by real smoke cooking culture. 

In Oversmoked Outlaws, you begin caged and sleeping in a bush, waking up in a world where the Warden’s BBQ competitions shape the town, its people, and the legends surrounding you. Although there's zombies in the game, they are tamed for the most part unless you beat them like chickens from the Legend of Zelda and well...you sort of asking for it.

You’ll be able to:

- grow crops and ingredients

- raise livestock

- collect different smoking woods

- manage smokers and BBQ techniques

- decorate and build your homestead

- relax with cozy nighttime vibes and community events

Smoke brisket, pork ribs, and poultry while creating your own signature recipes. Build your BBQ business one slow-smoked meal at a time and rise through the Warden’s legendary competitions. Meet rival communities, form friendships, recruit fellow outcasts, and decide what kind of reputation you want to leave behind. Grow a small camp into a thriving town, build your BBQ legacy, and shape the future of the frontier your own way.

Each crop can grow in size with the more love you give to boost its rarity.

Forage for legendary wood to achieve the perfect smoky flavor.

Chop trees in a fantasy setting. Learn which woods bring out the best in each cut. Search for rare trees across the land.

Stock up for your next cook. Every tree has its own use. Don't worry about zombies in the daytime. They are just there to help! Yeah really, well unless...

Build your house your way that exist in the same world.

From walls, windows, and flooring. Customize your living space and furnish it. Expand your home as you grow.

Place each piece where it feels right. Make room for what matters to you. You can stack wood blocks to create a unique look. Turn a small space into something that feels lived in. Keep it simple or fill it with detail. It’s your place to build it at your own pace. Cozy or Chaos? which way you prefer? Stay inside and avoid staying out too late...let's say before 3 am? Don't like what you see? Just close the window or curtains and go to sleep, its easy! No bed? No Problem. Floor or back to bush it is!

Make paths and build a pier for your beautiful fishing spot. Cast your line and see what bites.

Bring your haul back to cook or sell.

Dig, fill, and connect different areas. Turn open land into a place to fish.

Create cliffs and elevations, shape your land your way.

You have all the tools to customize your journey. Raise the land or level it out. Carve paths through higher ground.

Build spaces that feel connected. This is you world, your community. Everyone here is nice and safe.

Build fences. Raise your livestock.

Keep your animals close and cared for. Feed them, tend to them, and watch them grow nice and plump and also super healthy. You can name them if you want and is much encouraged.

*A Small Dev Note

Oversmoked Outlaws grew from my love of smoked BBQ and the farming/cooking ideas I shared with my daughter while making this game. The game also includes optional danger and survival settings that can be adjusted depending on whether you want a more relaxing or chaotic experience. It is a cozy game, a survival game, a BBQ game, and a whole lot of outlaw fun.
