About the Game

A familiar desktop, a welcome companion

Your Wife is an anime companion game for your Windows desktop. Find a spot for your favorite character, choose a background you love, and let her keep you company as you work, study or unwind. Move your mouse now and then, and catch her eye.

Choose who keeps you company today

Choose your favorite look from 8 built-in characters, or use characters you have subscribed to in the Workshop. Natural blinking, gentle breathing, and animated hair and clothing bring your desktop companion to life. Her gaze follows your mouse, too.

One character is displayed at a time. Switch whenever you like from the menu, and save a corner of your desktop for today's companion.

Her position and size are up to you

Drag your character to a comfortable spot, then use the mouse wheel to adjust her size from 55% to 450%. Keep her at the edge of your screen, or enlarge her to enjoy the details.

Mouse clicks pass through the character's transparent areas. To keep using the windows behind her, enable lock mode and let clicks pass through the entire character. Unlock her from the system tray when you want to interact again. You can also hide the character separately while keeping your wallpaper active.

Make your background part of the scenery

The built-in original Moonlit Violet Rose Terrace wallpaper combines moonlight, roses and violet hues to complement the character's silver hair and black-and-white dress. Choose the static version for a peaceful scene, or switch to the animated version to watch petals fall and twirl, fireflies drift, and moonlight gently shift.

You can also use local GIF or MP4 files as animated wallpapers, or choose static and animated backgrounds from the Workshop to create your own character and desktop combinations. MP4 wallpapers loop without sound.

Browse and subscribe to characters and wallpapers shared by other players, then manage and use your subscriptions in the game. You can also upload compatible character assets, static images or animated wallpapers to share your creations with others, and update or delete your own uploads.

Make it fit your routine

• Your character choice, position and size are saved automatically, so your setup is ready the next time you launch the game.

• Choose whether the character stays on top, the taskbar icon is shown, and the game starts with Windows.

• Choose from 30 interface languages and switch at any time in settings.

• Includes 100 Steam achievements, which you can start unlocking one by one from the menu.

A few things to know

This desktop companion is designed for the Windows desktop. To keep your character visible while playing other games, windowed or borderless fullscreen mode is recommended; exclusive fullscreen may cover her. Animated wallpaper playback compatibility depends on the file's encoding, your system's decoding support and your desktop environment.
