About the Game

My Summer Love is a romantic visual novel that captures the style of 90s full-motion video games. It's a fully immersive interactive video game that simulates a love story with Kang Yuna, a beautiful and charming woman. As a player, you take on the role of a new student. Could love develop between the two?

This is more than just a dating sim visual novel: Artificial intelligence allows for spontaneous and entertaining dialogues that, along with realistic animations, keep you engaged in the game and create a different experience than a traditional visual novel based on predefined dialogues. Since the AI ​​is local (included in the game), your conversations are anonymous, so you don't need a third-party service.

From start to finish, the game is packed with 90s references that will transport you that era: Arcades, CDs, Tamagotchi, Walkman, Rock bands, and more. Retro minigames will be included in the game that will enhance the experience.

DEVELOPMENT

For a game like My Summer Love, complete memory access control and multithreading capabilities were needed to efficiently load and unload images and videos, as well as dynamically generate text. No existing engine seemed suitable.

For these reasons, we developed our own engine specifically for visual novels, compatible with Large Language Model (LLM) and real-time video loading. Our engine was built from scratch using C++ and the following libraries: SFML, LlamaCpp, and DearImgui.
