Inspired by the spirit of games like Ninja Princess, Gauntlet, Commando, and Alien Syndrome, MUTEIGHT is about the feeling of gathering around a cabinet, learning the patterns, surviving one screen further, and chasing the score that puts your name above everyone else's.

There are no checkpoints here. You have five lives per level to escape the facility. If they run out, your progress is terminated and you start from the beginning.

A true arcade game is a battle for status. MUTEIGHT features full Steam Leaderboard integration. Every bullet dodged and every boss defeated counts toward your total. Don’t just escape - dominate the global rankings and prove you are the ultimate survivor of the facility.

ABOUT THE GAME WITHIN THIS GAME

You wake up on a cold autopsy table - a dark silhouette with glowing red eyes and a tentacle for an arm. You are Subject Kevin, and the entire facility is mobilised to put you back on the slab.

• The Tentacle Slingshot: Your left arm is a bio-mechanical grapple. Use it to propel yourself through the lab, slingshot around obstacles, or snatch objects to hurl at your captors. Or hurl them.

• Plasma Cannon: Eviscerate doctors, hazmat squads, and elite agents with devastating plasma blasts from your weaponized right arm.

• Chemical Augmentation: Collect experimental vials dropped by enemies to trigger mid-run buffs. Adapt your mutations on the fly to survive the increasingly lethal security tiers.
