Moonlight Cow: Guardian of the Night
About the Game
Moonlight Cow Guardian of the Night is a game I created on my own based on the games I grew up playing like Super Mario Bros and Zelda. In the game you play as Luna the cow alongside her tiny chick companion Pipkin. You can switch between them at any time, and Pipkin can carry Luna across obstacles, lift her to hidden ledges, and help her slip past enemies. Pipkin actually started as a small prototype idea that ended up becoming one of my favorite parts of the game.
The game is made up of eight handcrafted worlds with 64 levels in total. Each world is designed to take roughly 30 to 60 minutes to complete, so it works whether someone wants a short session or wants to play through an entire world in one sitting. The overall feel is cozy with a slightly spooky atmosphere, using soft lighting, a retro inspired soundtrack, and plenty of small secrets hidden around the levels.
Gameplay focuses on teamwork between Luna and Pipkin. You can swap between them or use Pipkin’s ability to carry Luna in order to solve simple platforming puzzles and reach alternate paths. The goal is to make the experience feel clever rather than punishing. Levels are built to reward exploration more than perfect timing.
If you enjoy cozy platformers, wishlisting the game helps a lot. Support like that makes a big difference for a solo developer. I read every message and review, and I use player feedback to fix bugs, adjust balance, and add small improvements where I can. Thanks for taking the time to check out the game.
