About the Game

"Deep Within the Mist" is a narrative-driven 2D RPG where you follow the protagonist, Ruo Xi, on a journey to uncover the secrets hidden behind this world.

Story

The story unfolds after Earth is struck by the "Calamity," turning the world into a desolate wasteland. As a massive fog spreads, human survival zones are fractured into isolated, sealed-off areas. The once-advanced technological civilization regresses, plunging the world into a Dark Age.

After countless years have passed, our protagonist, Ruo Xi, and her companion, Snowie, wander this desolate world together, deciding to embark on a journey to find the source of the Calamity. However, the hyper-realistic sci-fi world and the completely different version of herself that Ruo Xi occasionally sees in her dreams seem to suggest that far deeper secrets lie hidden beneath the surface.

The game is planned to feature a Prologue, Chapters 1 through 3, and a Finale, offering multiple endings waiting for you to discover.

Exploration

Throughout this adventure, you will encounter various survivors of the apocalypse, learn about their unique stories and fates, and gradually peel back the truth of this world.

Dangerous zones lurk within the game, harboring diverse enemies and mechanisms. You will need to carefully dodge various traps along the way, while a variety of contraptions await you.

Combat：A Blend of Turn-Based & Real-Time Action

The combat system of "Deep Within the Mist" fuses "traditional turn-based combat" with "high-intensity real-time action." In every clash, you must use "Observation" within a limited number of turns to identify the enemy's fatal weaknesses, which twinkle like starlight.

• From Passive to Active: [Chrono-Parse]

Abandoning the traditional bullet-hell mindset of purely passive dodging, Ruo Xi's combat philosophy is "active hunting."

You will utilize precise Dashes to tear through enemy fire blockades amidst perilous bullet hells. Once you successfully close in on your target, you can activate "Time-Lag Analysis"—an absolute domain akin to bullet time where you can instantly shatter enemy defenses through high-speed, flawless command combos (QTE)!

• An Extreme Information War With No HP Bars

Subverting traditional health bar designs, this is an extreme gamble against time.

The sole objective in combat is to continuously strike weaknesses to increase your "Resolution." When Resolution reaches 100%, Ruoxi can unleash a stunning, fatal strike to finish the opponent.

However, the battlefield allows for no hesitation. If you fail to complete the analysis before the turn timer runs out, Ruoxi will be forced to retreat, causing the area's "Alert Level" to spike significantly. Remember: once the Alert Level hits 100%, absolute termination awaits you.
