Metroplex
About the Game
Build a city. Connect a region. Create a metropolis.
Metroplex is a large-scale city and transportation simulation where roads, railways, housing, jobs, land value, and millions of residents reshape one another over decades. You are not building an isolated downtown. You are building a metropolitan region: dense centers, suburbs, industrial districts, commuter towns, and satellite cities, all held together by the networks that make them one place.
A new railway can turn a distant town into a commuter suburb. A faster service can expand the practical limits of the city. A major interchange can become the center of an entirely new urban district.
And the solution that works today may become the bottleneck of tomorrow.

Metropolitan scale changes the game
A town of 50,000 creates different problems from a region of 5 million. Early on, you fix an intersection, extend a road, or add one station. Later, the questions become regional: where millions of people commute from, whether the center can absorb more growth, where the next downtown should emerge, and whether an express service is saving time or merely moving congestion to a larger interchange.
Lay roads and railways. Place stations. Run local and express services. Shape land use. Manage infrastructure and public services. Watch neighborhoods grow together, compete, decline, and become part of something much larger.
Metroplex is designed for regions of millions. Population is not there just to make a counter rise. It changes transportation, housing, employment, prices, congestion, and the physical shape of the metropolis. The low-poly world is readable up close and clear at regional scale, so the city remains understandable as it grows.
Every decision has consequences. Consequences have consequences.
Transportation, housing, employment, land value, income, congestion, industry, accessibility, and migration feed into one another. There is no universally correct city. There are trade-offs.
Open an express service from an outer suburb. Journey times fall. Accessibility rises. Housing demand follows. Land values climb. Trains fill up. The interchange congests. Commerce gathers around the station. The improvement that unlocked this decade's growth becomes the problem you must solve in the next.
The reverse is also true. A factory closes. Income falls. Shops lose customers. Residents leave. A district can decline without waiting for a scripted disaster.
See why your city changed
Track population, jobs, income, housing costs, land value, commute time, ridership, and congestion across years of simulated history.
Compare districts and see a wealthy center, a fading industrial corridor, and a booming suburb evolve within the same region.
Export data to CSV for deeper analysis in Excel, Python, R, or your preferred spreadsheet tools.

Metroplex does not only tell you that the city is expensive or congested. It lets you ask when the change began, what changed with it, and which places gained or lost as a result.
If you can play it, you can create for it
AssetBuilder is designed to make creating a building feel like constructing something in the game, not learning an entire professional art pipeline. Duplicate something close, change the shape, replace the roof, choose its materials, and return it to the city.
The same philosophy extends to trains, stations, roads, and props. Low-poly is more than an art style: it is a shared visual language in which official and player-made content can belong on the same street.
A city that talks back
The News Feed turns simulation into headlines based on what actually happened: a suburban boom after a timetable change, an overcrowded railway, a housing squeeze, a corridor that flourished, or a district that emptied.
Advisors argue from their own priorities instead of revealing one correct way to play. Transport wants more trains. Finance hates the bill. Housing wants more homes near stations.
Central Station is operating at 184% of comfortable capacity. We recommend adding trains, adding platforms, or avoiding the station personally.
They can joke when the problem is ordinary. They stop joking when it is not. You decide which problems to solve, which compromises to accept, and what kind of metropolis you are willing to build.

Build it. Watch it change. Understand why.
You may begin with a road, a station, and a few thousand residents. Decades later, that same railway may carry millions through a region you barely recognize.
Metroplex is in active development. Features, visuals, balance, and simulation detail may change during development.
Build the city. Connect the region. Write its history.
