Game Description

In Major Hoof, you take control of an unstoppable, battle‑hardened military “horse”.

The visual style combines Amiga‑inspired pixel art with subtle skeletal animations. A fresh take on the genre blends seamlessly with a strong retro atmosphere.

The player travels through long, expansive levels packed with action and challenges.

During gameplay, you can take control of various machines and use their combat capabilities.

Player Abilities

You can shoot, run, jump, sneak, stab enemies with a knife, slide, swim, roll, flip, and perform acrobatics. You can buy weapon upgrades using points. A melee combat mode for the toughest players is available, along with new combos.

Character Progression

The game allows you to configure three independent combo sequences. Explore procedurally generated underground labyrinths in search of collectibles—unique combos to unlock. Feel like you’re playing a true, hardcore fighting game!

Weapon Upgrades

Replay levels you’ve already completed using new weapons and modifications!

Play Your Way

The game lets you play however you like—on a Steam Deck, with DualSense controllers, or Xbox controllers. If you prefer mouse gameplay, a keyboard‑and‑mouse mode is available, where the crosshair follows the mouse cursor. If you enjoy old‑school gameplay, you can use keyboard‑only controls. Each mode offers a different experience.

Story

As a cynical, undefeated major‑commando, rescue imprisoned women and children.

Each level brings you closer to dismantling a paramilitary organization whose influence has spread across the entire world. Along the way, you’ll face numerous obstacles, enemies, and demanding action sequences.
