About the Game

Your village. The real Istanbul.

Koyland is a free online strategy game played on the actual map of Istanbul, built from real OpenStreetMap data. Pick a spot in Kadıköy, Üsküdar or on the shores of the Bosphorus, found your village, and start writing your own story across a living city shared with other players.

Why you will keep coming back

• A real city as your board: every road, district, bridge and ferry line is real. Your caravans follow actual streets and cross the Bosphorus the way you would.
  
• Your terrain matters: settle near water to fish, near forests to cut wood, on rocky ground to quarry stone. Where you build shapes how you play.
  
• From village to beylik: upgrade your houses, workshops and walls, advance through the eras and grow your humble village into a powerful beylik.
  
• Trade and travel: send caravans to other districts, visit the market, and use bridges and ferries to reach the far side of the city.
  
• Defend and conquer: train soldiers, raise towers, repel raids and pirates, and take districts under your protection.
  
• Play together: join a clan, chat with neighbours, climb the district and clan leagues.
  
• Grows while you are away: your village keeps working on the server, so there is always something waiting for you when you return.
  
• Collect Istanbul: unlock landmarks, a district album and a museum of artifacts as you explore the city.

Fair and free

Koyland is free to play. Progress comes from playing, not paying. Your account and village are shared between the browser, Steam and mobile versions.

Steam achievements for every milestone, and the optional Steam Tower Pack DLC with a unique Steam Tower decoration and Steam-themed walls for your village.
