About the Game

Kaminari is a First Person RPG set in a fantasy Feudal Japan, based on authentic depictions and real historical accounts. Choose your own path in this world filled with mysterious Yokai creatures, each one faithfully brought to life, and master a range of martial arts, from swords, to bows, to the humble wooden staff, or destroy your enemies with powerful magical talismans.

The Lure of the Yokai

Some players may find themselves strangely drawn to the ferocious Yokai which inhabit the world of Yamato. They should be careful not to be drawn into any dark rituals, or they may find themselves serving the nefarious goals of new masters.

Faction System

The world of Yamato contains a multitude of Families, each with their own martial specialisation. Join them, and rise in the ranks to unlock deadly secret techniques; but be careful, you may find that your new allegiance comes with new enemies.

Build Your Character

Kaminari features full character customisation. Will you be a native Yamato, a mysterious foreign Nanban, an aquatic Kappa, or something else? An old-school class system lets you shape your character from the start, while unlockable perks will allow you to hone them as you level up.

Talisman Magic

Magic in Kaminari is based on Talismans. Throw wooden talismans your enemies for ranged attacks, or use paper talismans for melee attacks, sticking them to your enemies to cause effects over time. Special talismans may also be used to summon Yokai and Kami to fight alongside you.

Advanced Crime System

The wrong side of the law is the fun side. Players who choose to embrace a life of crime will find an advanced crime system, in which witnesses report both criminal and suspicious behaviour. If you have enough suspicion on you around a crime scene, you may find yourself called to a tribunal to answer for your misdeeds.
