About the Game

Gods of Angling is a "Tamagotchi-like" Idle Fishing RPG!

For those who maybe spend more time in the character creator, theorycrafting, or rolling alts than actually playing the game, this one is for you. And hey, it can run in the background no problem when you inevitably reroll in your favourite game for the third time this month. Gods of Angling runs in a low profile 4:3 window and utilizes extremely low system resources. 

Game Features

• Create a unique hero with 180 unique race and class combinations

• Progress through the world, catching scores of common, uncommon, rare, exotic and legendary fish along the way

• Journey from Level 1 to Level 100 while growing your hero stats, finding items and learning new skills

A Veritable Cast of Characters

Gods of Angling contains an epic number of selectable class and race combinations for your hero. And, there is absolutely no limitations. All your favourite originals -- the Human Paladin, the Elf Thief, the Orc Warrior are there, but maybe you also want to play a Fairy Barbarian, a Gnome Vampire, or a Ghoul Druid? Discover the more than 150 unique race and class combinations available for free, with additional choices available via the Founders Edition DLC.

Create your favourite class and race combination with unique attributes and skills for every single one! All races feature a unique racial trait, and all classes have their own skillset to aid them in their conquest to take down some legit lunkers.

And the cast of 'characters' would not be complete without the fish themselves. Work your way up from tadpoles to trout to terrifying abominations...

All Your Favourite Core RPG Elements

Level up, grow your stats, catch legendary fish, move through natural biomes, steal from the travelling merchant, equip an exotic imbued fishing rod. It's all here! The numerous vectors have your hero grow and experience the life of an angler. Did you leave them alone to do their for for a week? A month? Catch up on their progress by checking out their journal and see their haul of new attributes, skills and loot.

Meet Your Friends!

180 heroes to choose from means that 179 friends could be waiting for you! Bump into fellow anglers along the way and swap tall tail tales and fishing puns. Grow your relationship with your friends and discover who is a true friend, and who is a rival!

Deep Stat Tracking 

Track your progress over time with a journal of all the fish you've caught and all the friend's you met along the way. Check on your trophy hauls, your favourite meal, how much gold you're making with the local merchants. You can monitor many forms of evolution of your chosen hero!

True Idle Gameplay

Many idle games advertise themselves as idle, but get gated or stuck if you don't consistently interact with them, or have degenerate gameplay loops that incentivize silly behaviour or are flooded with microtransactions. Gods of Angling aims to be a truly idle game that can run (at very low system resource utilization!) in the background as a Tamagotchi-like experience while you do anything you like. The player can engage with the game how and when they like and drive autonomous behaviours through policies and settings. In keeping with this vision of providing a user-friendly experience, your character will even sleep when you sleep!

Rich Theming System 

Inspired by the class SNES game of my namesake, the user interface colour theme is highly customizable to provide an experience that suits your individual needs whether preference or accessibility. Change your theme in a moment, whenever you like improve your experience. Delicious themes are available beyond the default "Oreo" theme. Why not give Blackberry, Coconut or Mint a try? There are many tasty options to choose from to customize your experience and visual preferences.

Pricing and Monetization

Gods of Angling is free! It is a free game, and it will never contain aggressive or pay-two-win microtransaction mechanics. The Founders Edition DLC provides access to additional hero races & classes and themes. The DLC is optional, and never in-your-face or unfair. This is a promise!
