Gather and Rule

Gather and Rule

About the Game

Genre: Turn-based digital board game | Players: 1 (vs AI) or 2–4 online via Steam | Match length: ~10 min solo, ~20 min multiplayer

The Goal:
Victory is yours by one of three paths: retrieve the relic from the dragon-guarded centre, eliminate all rival rulers, or capture every enemy castle. Choose your strategy wisely—spread too thin and your own base will fall, knocking you out instantly.

Core Mechanics:

  • Dice-roll movement: Roll to gain movement points, then march your units across the board.

  • Resource & worker management: Occupy resource slots with workers to build a steady income. Use these funds to recruit new units and construct bridges (to cross obstacles) or wooden walls (to fortify positions).

  • Combat & harassment: Engage enemy forces directly, or send raiders to disrupt their workers. Bandits roam the map too—defeating them can yield bonus loot.

What's at stake:
Your homelands are vulnerable. Leaving them undefended while you chase glory is a gamble—lose your base and you're out of the game. Protect your workers, secure your borders, and decide when to push for the relic or go for total annihilation. Every match is a fresh, procedurally generated showdown where only strategic vigour will crown the victor.

Game modes:

  • Single-player: Sharpen your tactics against an adaptive AI opponent.

  • Online multiplayer: Face friends or strangers in Steam lobbies—betray, ally, or backstab in real-time board-game style.
