About the Game

Gata Guressi is a sci-fi translation game where you learn to communicate with the people of the Hierre system by translating their languages and understanding their cultures. Build your knowledge of Hierre's history, culture, and planets, then put it to use to sell a shipment of a rare resource from your home planet.

Use your translator to learn the dictionaries, structure, and culture of 11 languages used by the people of Hierre. Dialogue will challenge you with foreign concepts and references; you'll need to understand the cultures and planets of Hierre to leverage your sales pitches and catch hidden meanings.

Kallay Tirridor, an upscale bar-turned-trade-port, hosts a variety of demographics from around the system: local Voenni, high-class Kallay patrons, tourists from the other side of the system, and traders like you. Kallay isn't a massive place, and visitors usually don't come alone; how you respond to different situations may affect you later on.

You've brought a shipment of a valuable resource called ielsek to Kallay, but to make sales, you'll need to understand how your potential customers speak and think. Your background as a Guressi (someone from the exiled planet of Guressen) may complicate sales and lead to unsavory interactions.

Read between the lines to discern hidden meanings and hints at a dark scheme surrounding Kallay. Investigate by making the right friends, learning new definitions and slang phrases, and catching what people really mean by their words.
