Fishbait
About the Game
Fishbait is a casual 2-4 player card game about survival where the last fish standing wins.
The gameplay utilizes Russian-roulette style mechanics, where a wrong draw can lead to your demise. The last thing you want as fish is be caught by the fisherman and turned into an all-you-can-eat sushi sampler.
Hidden among the deck are dangerous Bait cards. If you draw one, you’re immediately caught by the fisherman and lose the game—unless you have a way out.
If you have an Escape card, you may play it when you run into a Bait card. This lets you safely continue your turn. After escaping, you must place the Bait card back into the deck at a position of your choosing (top, 2nd, 3rd, bottom).
On your turn, you may play as many action cards as you want, in any order. Some examples are:
Alter – Rearrange the top three cards of the deck.
Favor – Force another player to give you a card of their choice.
Skip – Skip your turn
Attack – Next player must draw 2 cards to end their turn
Nope – Cancel the effect of a card.
Reverse – Change the direction of play.
Use these cards wisely to keep yourself off the dinner menu.
Your turn ends when you draw a card. This is normally from the top of the deck, but certain actions also count as your draw.
For example, using Dig (draw the bottom card of the deck) immediately ends your turn.
