Evil Thing

Evil Thing

About the Game

"Evil Thing" is a survival horror game centered on the concept of "surviving by the day." Players will take on the role of a young Shaman apprentice, struggling to survive within the perilous Fox Immortal Temple. The game features a dual day-night cycle: daytime is for tense management and preparation, while nighttime is for desperate evasion and combat.

Daytime: The Final Moments to Prepare

As sunlight faintly filters through the cobweb-laden window frames, you must carefully allocate each moment of daylight.

  • Cleanse Impurities: Residual impurities within the temple make each night more dangerous. Use spells or ritual implements to cleanse them during the day.

  • Gather and Maintain: Collect supplies, cultivate medicinal herbs, construct facilities, and refine elixirs to prepare for the impending Blood Moon.

  • Venture Out: To acquire materials or herbs, you must risk stepping outside the temple gates, exploring the mist-shrouded mass graves and abandoned villages in the mountains.

  • Receive Visitors: As the Fox Immortal Temple's reputation grows, more visitors will arrive each day (some of whom may be mimics!). Their incense offerings can increase your income. Completing their requests can enhance the temple's prestige, or you can trade with them for outside supplies.

The Long Night: The Hunting Hour

When the sun sets and the mountain forest falls into a dead silence, the true nightmare begins. Evil Things surge from the depths of the earth, seeking the scent of the living.

  • Evade and Hide: Initially, you'll be nearly powerless in a direct confrontation. You must hold your breath, conceal yourself carefully, and use the faint candlelight offered to the immortals to mask your human presence, avoiding the terrifying figures that roam the courtyard.

  • Complete Guest Tasks: Can you be certain that all guests lodging in the temple are truly "human"? At night, you can risk completing the tasks they leave behind (prayers, item searches, revenge) in exchange for precious supplies or increased temple reputation, thereby boosting your income.

  • Take the Initiative: You can use precious ammunition for physical exorcism, chant sutras to liberate spirits, or draw your sword to confront the Evil Things head-on. Sometimes, taking the initiative is a viable choice.

Features: Finding Hope Amidst Despair

  • A Thrilling Survival Cycle: Every choice made during the day directly impacts your survival odds at night. Will you prioritize crafting tools and stockpiling supplies to ensure longevity? Or will you strengthen your weapons and train your body? The balance of survival rests in your hands.

  • Mounting Despair Over Time: The game has no fixed number of levels. The longer you survive within the temple, the more powerful, bizarre, and indescribable the Evil Things become. Early comfort can be the poison of the later stages.

  • Core of Chinese Folk Horror: The game delves deep into the lore of Shaman apprentices, folk legends, and shamanistic culture, presenting a bizarre world filled with tales of "invoking spirits," "exorcising demons," and the Four Great Guardian Families (Huang, Bai, Liu, Hui – associated with weasels, hedgehogs, snakes, and mice). The monster designs are not simple jump scares, but rather psychological压迫感 rooted in folklore.

  • Roguelike Strategy and Growth: Each day brings randomized supply locations, a variety of visitors, and strange monsters. Will you choose to fight or hide carefully? Tread cautiously through each night to ultimately uncover the secrets hidden within the Fox Immortal Temple.

How many nights can you survive?

This is not just a survival challenge, but a test of your resolve and humanity.

Will you hold fast within the temple, seeking a final confrontation with these Evil Things?

Or will you watch your sanity and supplies dwindle away amidst endless fear, eventually becoming one of them?
