Eat the Rich: Greed Games
About the Game
Eat the Rich is a social deception game inspired by the TV show Survivor. Up to 10 punished billionaires compete in multiple rounds of brawls and mind games to earn pennies. A player gets voted out at the end of each round!
Brawls and Mind Games
Most party games revolve around their minigames. In Eat the Rich, the minigames are quick, simple and familiar - tools to amass wealth. The real focus is in surviving the vote!
Vote the Richest Out?
Your wealth is hidden from each other. You must figure out who's the richest and convince other players to vote them out because they will win if they reach the finals! This is a dynamic game. It only takes a few brawl wins and smart choices to jump from poorest to richest. Use your deduction skills to get a good gauge on everyone's ever-changing wealth.
Eliminating the richest may not always be the smartest option. Sometimes, keeping a solid voting ally is more important to ensure your survival. A devious billionaire knows the perfect time to betray a richer ally.
Social Deception
But what do you do once you're the richest? Manipulate and deceive to hide your wealth and avoid becoming the target! Some games split players up into groups, so players will have limited information about you. If you earned a lot, gaslight the others and pretend to be the victim with your fake news version of the events. Maintain your position and reach the finals to win!
Secret Advantages
If all else fails, spend some of your pennies to purchase Advantages. These are powerful consumable items that can turn the tide in your favor. Here are some fun examples:
Use an Amnesty to erase all votes on you!
Use a Scapegoat on another player and if you have the most votes, they will get voted out instead. Scapegoats can chain! If your target also used a Scapegoat, their target will get eliminated instead.
You can even skip having to persuade others to vote with you and just steal their vote with a Vote Buying advantage.
Announce another player's pennies to everyone by using the Spotlight advantage. When used smartly, this could redirect attention away from you.
You can protect yourself from hostile attacks and boomerang the effect back to the user by using a Reflect advantage on yourself.
With all these devious advantages in the game, eliminations can often end with unpredictable results!
Spend wisely. It's always better to survive a vote through sheer convincing power to avoid wasting pennies.
Defectors
Got voted out early? Worry not. You will become a Defector. Defectors can still win by earning pennies in a completely different way. While active players continue competing in challenges, you can visit circus tents and play a different set of circus games to earn your pennies. These can then be used to influence the ongoing game by tempting active players with powerful offers! Some examples:
Immunity. If a player accepts this offer, they cannot be voted this round.
Vote Switcher. A powerful tool that allows the player to switch the votes between two players.
You earn a lot of pennies if a player accepts your offer. Spectate closely to determine which player is more likely to accept your offer. Use their selfishness to your advantage and you might just overtake everyone else in wealth and get a surprise win in the end!
