DAWN AEROWAR

DAWN AEROWAR

About the Game

What is Dawn? Not a game
A fighter jet seen from above, flying through an orange sky
Dawn: Aerowar is an animated audioplay. It uses 3D animation, 2D art and an audioplay story to tell one final mission for a fighter pilot driven by revenge against an Empire that took everything from him.

Escorting with him a weapon beyond right knowing, all that stands in his way are the aces of the Saal'Runa Empire, the last pilots standing after years of war.

With nearly two hours of aerowar action and drama, Dawn is a story made and composed by veterans of the genre, presenting the story of a man on a mission, and what it would take to stop him.

This is not a game. You sit back, you turn the volume up, and you watch.

3D Animation. The war in the air
A fighter jet banking hard, wing low, in the light of dawn
In a world scarred by years of war, the Free Nations stand on the brink of annihilation. The Saal'Runa Empire's iron fist has crushed all resistance. All but one.

One pilot. One last sortie across the whole Empire: the northern front, the strait, Aegis Sea, the Capital. Patrols on his tail and missiles fanning out over the clouds. Every flight is staged and animated in 3D and shot like a film.

Hand drawn close up on a pilot's eyes inside his helmet
Faces and cockpit are all hand drawn. Zodiac 1 lost everything to the Empire. Family. Home. Purpose. All that remains is a single, burning drive: revenge. In front of him, three aces sent to stop him.

The three aces of the Empire: Reaper, Freya and Miracle

  • Reaper, the Name of Death. He loves the war more than the peace.
  • Freya, the Imperial Goddess. She quotes philosophers while she shoots.
  • Miracle, The Guardian Angel. Known for the lives she saved rather than the ones she took.
Each of them asks Zodiac the same thing: do you even know what you're fighting for?

Audioplay Story. Voices, choir, orchestra
The AWACS operator seen from behind, facing her radar screens
Zodiac flies alone. What reaches him of the war comes over the cockpit radio, from an AWACS operator he has never heard before. Talkative, sharp, and strangely well informed. Between the two of them, the whole war, in voices.

Professional voice cast: Sam Hughes, Kira Buckland, Lara Sawalha, Blythe Melin, Sandra Espinoza, Mark Mullens, Jeremiah Foltz, and over thirty additional voices. Every word, every emotion, performed.

Fully original orchestral soundtrack, composed to picture: fast-paced, epic, with choirs, Bulgarian voices and classical guitar, plus two original songs. From the composer of Project Wingman, Jose Pavli.
90 minutes of original music.
