About the Game

DARRELL IS TRAPPED

Somewhere under a dead BBS, Darrell is having a very bad time. You're on the other side of the screen.

Watch his back. Help when you can. He'll handle the punching.

WATCH HIM GET STRONGER

Darrell fights. Darrell earns XP. Darrell gets stronger.

Watch him level up, hit harder, survive longer, and push deeper into the dungeon, whether you're helping him or just letting the idiot work.

Leave him alone for a while. He'll probably be stronger when you get back.

BUILD YOUR DARRELL

You don't control every punch. You decide what kind of Darrell throws them.

Give him patches that make him hit harder, survive longer, chase bigger rewards, abuse Rage, inhale food, or do increasingly questionable shit.

Mix them. Swap them. Build something stupid. There is no correct Darrell.

HELP. OR DON'T.

Darrell can handle himself.

But when you feel like getting involved, spot openings during fights, make choices for him, and steer him toward safer roads or much worse ideas with much better rewards.

Or put your hands in your pockets and watch. Darrell keeps going either way.

WATCH HIM DIE

He will.

Send him back stronger.

That's pretty much the arrangement.

BUILD YOUR PACK

There are dogs down there.

Obviously you rescue them.

Bring them along on future climbs and build a pack while Darrell continues making excellent decisions without supervision.

TAKE A BREAK

Put on a show.

Seriously.

Load your own videos into the VCR and watch something while Darrell keeps fighting behind it. Glance over occasionally and see how the little bastard is doing.

He has his thing. You have yours.

WAIT, WHAT?

FMVs. DMs. Radio stations. Glitches. Strange events. Bad advice. Things that probably should not be happening.

Some of it matters. Some of it doesn't.
