Court of Hearts: Masquerade Trials transforms classic Hearts into a Victorian gothic roguelike filled with powerful combinations, supernatural rule changes, masked witnesses, and courtroom deception.

Pass dangerous cards, create voids in your hand, force penalties onto your rivals, and decide whether to avoid the Queen of Spades or turn her into your greatest weapon. Build around Artifacts, enhanced cards, and scoring Tactics that reward clever passing, precise plays, and calculated risks.

The Early Access version includes complete Solo Runs, AI opponents, public matchmaking, private Steam friend lobbies, and private online co-op against AI. The Masquerade Trials story campaign is planned for version 1.0.

Build a Powerful Run

In Solo Run, survive increasingly dangerous Hearts rounds while assembling a build that changes how every hand is played.

Generate Power by sending penalty cards to your opponents. Create voids through strategic passing, trigger specialized Tactics, enhance individual cards, and combine Artifacts into powerful scoring chains.

Build around strategies such as:

• Disposing of dangerous cards while void in a suit

• Passing marked cards and tracking their recipients

• Turning the Queen of Spades into a scoring weapon

• Chaining precise plays into large Power bonuses

• Protecting your limited Composure

• Risking everything on a declared Moonshot

Visit shops between rounds, improve your Tactics, enhance important cards, restore Composure, and prepare for Elite encounters and Boss Rules that alter the foundations of Hearts.

Unlock 40+ Artifacts

Artifacts provide build-defining effects that change how you pass cards, create voids, generate Power, protect Composure, and interact with penalty cards.

Some strengthen passed cards, reward specialized Tactics, improve enhanced cards, or amplify the Queen of Spades. Others enable unusual combinations that can completely reshape your strategy.

Earn Profile XP through Solo Runs and multiplayer matches. Increase your Profile Level, open gameplay-earned Artifact Packs, and permanently unlock new Artifacts for future runs.

Artifact Packs are earned through play and provide no paid competitive advantage.

Solo Run

Take on complete roguelite runs featuring shops, upgrades, Elite encounters, Boss Rules, limited Composure, and persistent progression.

Classic Hearts

Play traditional Hearts against AI opponents, enter public online matchmaking, or create a private lobby with Steam friends.

Court of Hearts

Play a rule-breaking version of Hearts featuring Artifacts, enhanced cards, Tactics, and gameplay modifiers that change how each match unfolds.

Compete through online matchmaking or create a private lobby with friends.

Private Online Co-op

Invite a Steam friend to a private lobby and work together against two AI opponents.

Masquerade Trials: Planned for Version 1.0

The Masquerade Trials story campaign is planned for version 1.0 and is not included in the initial Early Access release.

The full campaign will combine Hearts with a Victorian gothic mystery involving masked witnesses, evidence, testimony, supernatural rule changes, and courtroom deduction.

Use Trial Effects to uncover hidden details, preserve evidence, challenge suspicious testimony, and strengthen your case against each witness.

Early Access focuses on the complete Hearts roguelite, progression, AI, multiplayer, and private co-op modes described above.
