About the Game

Countdown to Midnight is a visual novel adventure where you follow a depressed young man as he searches for a reason to live.

It's New Year's Eve. Vesper is a college dropout who stopped talking to his friends and family and currently works a dead-end job at a convenience store. He's convinced that he has nothing to live for... until a girl literally drops out of the sky and drags him on an adventure. Follow the pair as they explore the city, investigate locations, collect items through point-and-click mechanics, and help a variety of colorful characters overcome their problems. 

Maybe by learning about the struggles of others, he can learn more about himself, too?

• Emotional, Character-Driven Narrative: On a night that should be full of joy and celebration, the city is full of people who can't join in the festivities. Befriend them, and maybe lonely people can help each other.

• Explore the City: Navigate to different locations in the city through the interactive map!

• Point and Click Gameplay: Investigate locations, collect items, and talk to characters to progress the story.

• Texting System: As you meet the cast, collect their phone numbers and start messaging! 

• Side Quests: As you play along the main story, discover side objectives and hidden storylines. 

• Collect Cats: Spot cats and collect their pictures while you roam throughout the city!
