Coiled Silence
About the Game
Coiled Silence is a first-person psychological horror game built around real work, real routines, and a story that unfolds across many nights.
You play as Joe, living in a small apartment and working night shifts at Ember Barn, a fast-food restaurant across the block. Family texts push you into the job. Your phone never stops. Each night runs from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM, and what feels normal at first slowly stops making sense.
The full game spans multiple nights of play, not a single shift. Days pass, story phases change, apartment life and restaurant work feed into each other, and the horror builds through repetition, silence, and the systems you rely on every night.
At Ember Barn, the shift is a working restaurant simulation. Clock in, restore power, run the lights, and serve customers under time pressure. Take orders, build drinks, cook fries, assemble burgers, manage a service tray, bag orders, and deliver them for grading. Rush periods, quiet periods, and late-night tension all affect how the shift feels. Your performance matters to the people texting you and to how the night unfolds.
Your phone is the center of the game. Live message threads arrive from Family, Unknown Number, your Boss, and others. The same device tracks your health, checking and savings balances, inventory, map position, photos, flashlight, and night vision camera. Story beats, tutorials, and warnings often arrive while you are still working, so answering the phone is not optional.
Between shifts, the apartment is its own space to live in. Move through rooms, interact with doors, lights, cabinets, and objects, manage consumables like medicine and drinks, and prepare for the next night. Multi-night progression changes what you find, what you hear, and how the world behaves. Routes, habits, and choices stack over time.
Coiled Silence is slow-burn horror. It is about atmosphere, routine, bad messages at the wrong time, and the feeling that the night already knows your name. Listen closely, look again, and use your tools when something feels off. Optional secrets reward players who pay attention.
The game is in development by Irreplaceable Studios, a one-person team.
