ChonkBlocker
About the Game
Stack pairs. Build power gems. Detonate. Bury your opponent under cascading garbage.
ChonkBlocker is a head-to-head puzzle battler in the Puyo Puyo / Puzzle Fighter lineage, sharpened by a decade of "what if the comebacks were even bigger." Drop falling pairs of chunky, color-coded Chonker gems, match colors into chains, build giant 2×2 power gems, then time the detonation that cascades into a single screen-shaking chain reaction. The garbage rains on the other board. Your opponent has roughly four seconds to find an answer. Often they don't.
The depth lives in the reads — when to defend, when to bait a counter, when to hold a power gem one more turn for the perfect setup. Every match is decided by a handful of frame-perfect calls and the comeback nobody saw coming.
Features
Comeback-friendly combat. No match is over until the screen fills. Fat chains and well-timed power gems flip momentum in seconds — the comeback is a core mechanic, not a fluke.
Online 1v1 with matchmaking. Drop into a quick-match queue or set up a private match with a friend. Cross-platform: Windows, macOS, and Linux players are matched on the same servers.
Local network play. Self-host on your LAN for tournament night, dorm play, or any time you want to skip the internet entirely.
Vs. CPU practice. Sharpen reads, drill chain patterns, and warm up against trainable AI before stepping into the queue.
Eight Chonkers, all yours. Brix, Tempo, Pip, Cinder, Vesper, Juno, Lattice, and Flicker — each with their own attitude on win, loss, and detonation.
Chunky, readable 2D art. Bold, color-coded gems and crunchy detonation effects built to read at speed even when the board is in chaos.
An original chiptune soundtrack that bangs. Retro hardware sound, modern hooks, every track a banger. The music ramps with your chain count — bigger swings, louder beats, harder hits.
Controller-first, Steam Deck verified. Built for couch play. Verified on Deck Gaming Mode. Mouse and keyboard fully supported.
True cross-platform. Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon native), and Linux + SteamOS — same game, same chonk, anywhere you play.
